Fragrance Bouquet Loves... Sniffapalooza

Today I want to give a shout-out to all the people involved in the wonderful effort that is the Sniffapalooza online magazine! As a registered reader of the magazine, I received an email two days ago from editor in chief Raphaella Brescia Barkley, to let us know that Michelyn Camen’s wonderful recent article proved to be not only intriguing for readers, but for perfumers as well. Following the publication, master perfumer Michel Roudnitska signed the Sniffapalooza guestbook, making all of us readers feel just a little bit starstruck and very much closer to the people whose wonderful creations we admire. Raphaella’s email touched me with its gladsome passion: I want to thank her and all the contributing writers for raising awareness to the fact that there is indeed a group of people that consider perfumery to be an art form they deeply care about, and slowly making the world take note. Too, doors previously seeming hermetically closed are opening for the regular Sniffapalooza trips, which I hope to someday join, to meet all the Sniffa members that are as passionate about the world of scent as I am. Until then, I blow kisses to all of you, readers, writers and Sniffa perfume pilgrims alike.

You can view Michel Roudnitska's guestbook entry by clicking on the first link and scrolling all the way down to reach the guestbook link. From there, click on entries.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Sweetpea -

It's lovely of you to acknowledge our friends' hard work,; they are really remarkable folks.

No one EVER gets enough 'pats on the back, LOL !

Kisses back to you, on behalf of all...

There is nothing quite like the moment when true fragance fans and the actual fragrance creator interact. Too often it is the interface of the giant fragrance companies and us wondering who was the actual person to smell and test and create the scent, but every once in awhile there is a break through that giant wall and this is one of those.

How wonderful that you mentioned the magazine on your gorgeous blog.

A royal bow to you from the Prince.

Really, Darling Divina, you MUST make it to a Sniffa in NY! It's a fabulous frenzy of friendships and 'fumes! You, too, are a ROCK STAR in Perfume Land! xo Vida

Roxana, thank you for your visit! (What a beautiful profile picture btw - has anybody told you bare a resemblance to Natalie Portman? You're beautiful!)

Dearest Carol, I had seen your writing on Sniffapalooza before but somehow failed to notice you had your own blog up until a week or two weeks ago when I found you and promptly added you to my perfumed links! I thoroughly enjoy your writing - your descriptions are so lively, they make me feel as though I am experiencing everything with you!

My beautiful Chaya angel, isn't that the truth? And when I think of how much Raphaella does, it boggles my mind! Credit where credit's due! It was high time :) Hugs to you, my sweet!

Jen, what a nice comment! And I think that it is the increasingly noticeable presence of fans that is slowly breaking down those walls. Am I silly to think it's almost like a new era?

Prince Barry! So nice to see you here on FB - I always enjoy your posts on Basenotes and POL! (I'm afraid I'm only a lurker on both when I have the time, it's exhausting trying to be a good student sometimes :P )
What can I do but curtsey? I do hope you'll visit again :)

Vida! Hello, hello! *HUGS* Oh my goodness, how I'd love that. It would probably be easier for me to join one in Europe I guess, but I have never visited New York and it is one of the cities I crave to visit. I think I have to make a promise to myself to attend a sniffa this year. All these lovely comments make me even more determined!

Hello darling perfumista's.

I was so touched by all of you and all the emails I received at the Magazine, thank you so much. And yes, it takes 40-50 hours per issue to produce and it a huge act of love. I actually enjoy being in my pajama's all day, no make-up, sitting at the computer going over perfume-related items! LOL

The thing with Sniffapalooza, the organization, that binds with me, is that we all have met and that makes all the difference as opposed to the fake world of the internet, (where I have been bullied) when you really do not know a person and things can change at any moment.

And it's funny, those of you I do know, and some I do not, you all have my hearts, even if it is over the internet.Thank you Divina.

Much love to you all...
Raphaella

Dear Divina- Thanks for the shout out. too often the blogosphere and internet are as secretive with each other as the old garde of ragrance.

You are a savvy and passionate perfumista to understand we all share the common goal... more info, more transparency and change!

Divina and Barry- I am so glad you VISIT basenotes. As you know I am the new in niche columnist for that site. And I like writing for Grant. But I LIVE in sniffapalooza magazine.

Oddly enough, the concepts for these series were presented to my EIC when I was Editorial Director/Fragrance Editor for Beauty News AND TO basenotes. BUT IT WAS RAPHAELLA WHO UNDERSTANDS PASSION AND CREATIVITY.

Ehat good are insights if no one reads them. You rock Raph

-Michelyn- who is working on a new concept at 4 am in NY for Sniffa, stay tuned.

Yep, Raph is awesome, isn't she? A Fragrance Fairy Godmother extraordinaire. I <3 the Sniffapalooza Magazine as well, it's near and dear to my heart.

D, are you planning on attending the Sniffa in October by any chance?

Raphaella, so lovely to see you here! This came from the heart and it makes me so happy to see that it has brought pleasure. I look forward to meeting you sometime in the future for real.

Michely, such a wise comment and so nicely put. Thank you so much for the kind words! *hugs*

Juvy my darling, October will not be possible for me.. It will be midterm season :( However I hope to join the London Sniffa in July. How wonderful would that be? A city I haven't yet visited and long to so much, coupled with an event I so want to join!
